BrewDog, a Scottish brewery, just launched the world's strongest beer with 41 per cent alcohol by volume. Sink the Bismarck, the name of the beer, is stronger than whisky or vodka. BrewDog said the beer would only be sold through its website.

Studies show that well-paid single tradesmen are responsible for more than half of Australia' alcohol consumption.

A study has shown that drinking beer can help prevent weak bones; beer contained a substance that boost bones, especially pales ales which contains high level of silicon known to slow down the bones thinning. Silicon is present in beer in the soluble form of orthosilicic acid (OSA), up to half of which can be absorbed by the body.

Researchers at the
German Cancer Research Centre have found that a molecule found in beer could be linked to helping protect against breast cancer and prostate cancer.
